You Are Beautiful
You do have something beautiful and unique to share with the world and don’t let anybody tell you different. The problem is that as time has slipped on by you may have stopped receiving that positive reinforcement. Maybe you never received it in the first place. Maybe instead of encouragement what you got was disinterest or abuse or worse.
The lucky amongst us got heavy doses of praise and encouragement while we were young and impressionable. The unlucky amongst us never did. Fickle fate.
As the unbridled magic of childhood makes way for the brutality of adolescence and the sometimes despair of adulthood it’s easier than easy to forget how special and unique you are. When you’re treated as a cog in a machine you start to believe you’re nothing more than a cog in a machine. When it seems like few people are focusing their love and attention on you it’s easy to start to believe you’re not worthy of love and attention.
Before too long the beauty is gone. All those bright colors of the rainbow turn into drab, unremarkable shades of gray. Maybe you can’t remember those beautiful colors anymore.
Well, I’m here to tell you right now that you are beautiful and special, that you are so much more than a cog in that cold, lifeless machine.
You are a beautiful human being, capable of doing beautiful, creative, unique, astounding things that only you can do. I want you to know how proud of you I am right now as I speak to you across this digital divide. You can do it! You can resolve, right this moment, to start to be the very best version of you from this moment forward. I’m proud of you!
Regardless of your current situation you can rise above. It doesn’t matter if your world is a tiny space or the whole universe, what matters is that either way you have real power inside of you, the human power to share who and what you are with the people around you. Don’t give up and don’t give in. Be tender and gentle towards yourself and everyone else. Say hello to the beauty inside of you and let the ugliness of life’s trials and tribulations fall by the wayside.
