If you are a kid this article is written specifically for you. The most important thing to understand is that if people are trying to make you suffer it means that they are suffering. It doesn’t matter whether it is your parents or your classmates or a family member or your teachers or anyone else who is making you suffer, this simple truth pretty much always holds true. People who are happy do not try to make other people suffer, they try to help them be happy. People who are suffering don’t want to admit to themselves that they are suffering, but deep down they are hurting, so they try to transfer this feeling to someone else, someone like you. What is suffering? Suffering is that bad feeling in your belly. It is when you are made to feel small. You are small enough already! You deserve a situation where you are encouraged to grow, where you feel like you can be yourself and where people want you to be happy. There is nothing you can do now about anything that has happened to you, but there is a lot you can do from this moment forward.

Body language is important. No one can take away your dignity except for you. You are a child who deserves respect and love. Walk with your back straight and your head held high. Make eye contact with everyone. Be respectful but stand up for yourself and for your human rights to happiness and peace. No one deserves to be bullied. Believe that you are a person who is deserving of respect and love, because you are.

Suffering is an unavoidable part of life because everyone gets sick and everyone eventually dies. But you don’t have to suffer unnecessarily. Life is beautiful. Life is like a blooming field of flowers on a blue skied summer day. You deserve to be there, jumping around in the meadow, having a great time with your friends and with people who really care about you and want you to be happy.

Now is the time to decide that you want to improve your life. First realize that if people are trying to make you suffer it means that they are suffering too. They need help just like you do. You really do need help right now if someone is abusing you. There are generally three types of abuse. The first is emotional abuse. This is where people say words to you that make you feel small and make you feel bad about yourself. The second is physical abuse. This is where people physically hurt you and threaten your body, like spanking, pushing you around, or hitting you with a belt. The third is sexual abuse. This is when adults touch their private parts to your private parts, where they have sexual intercourse with you. You need help right now if any of these things are happening to you.

There are lots of people who want to help you and want the best for you, like your teachers, school counselors, your parents, or the parents of your friends. You don’t have to go through your problems alone. Make sure it is someone you trust, and open up to this person about what has been going on with if you feel like something is wrong. Don’t try to hold all these feelings inside or keep them a secret, because you will end up feeling even worse and you won’t get the help that you need.

You can contact us about anything. Just click the contact tab on our website and fill out the form. We will write back to you and try to help you in any way that we can. The suffering needs to stop for everyone right now. There is already enough of that in life without us adding to it. You can take all the bad things that have happened to you and turn them into something beautiful by deciding you want to become a beautiful, loving person. You can be a lotus flower that grows out of the mud.

Send us your story of triumph, either about how you are helping yourself or about how you have helped someone else, and we will post it up here, with your name attached to it if you want or anonymous if you want. If you ever want us to take it down we will, no questions asked. Unfortunately you don’t have as much power as a kid as you will have when you are an adult, but you probably have more power right now than you think you do. If you can summon the courage to ask someone you trust for help, they will almost certainly help you, and you will feel more powerful right away. You will probably start getting the help you need to feel better too. There are many people who want you to grow and who want you to be happy. If you are a kid anywhere in the world, this article is written for you. We support you and we want you to be happy.
